A print of my illustration of Camden's famous railway bridge over Chalk Farm Road. Painted in 1989 by John Bulley (the bridge, not my painting 🙂).
The two men painting the sign where fun to illustrate (faces are always a way to add life and character) and the colour scheme really works with the red bricks and trees. I also love the font they have on the bridge, which was a joy to recreate, there is something very satisfying about drawing typography like this.
This painting was created from a sketch I made standing on Chalk Farm Road. It's a busy road which could have ended up as a busy scene but I decided to keep it simple, focusing solely the bridge. When I came to paint this version, the simplicity of the original sketch helped me avoid over complicating things which really lets you focus on the famous bridges character and details.

If you have not received a UK order within 10 working or non UK with 15 days after ordering, please get in touch so I can look into this as quickly as possible.
For non-UK orders, buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. Mike Green Illustration is not responsible for delays due to customs
