A print of my illustration of Buckingham Palace from St James's Park.
I painted this view from the west end of the park, just next to the Blue Bridge over the lake. From here you have this great view of Buckingham Palace and the golden Victoria Memorial statue perfectly framed between the trees.
The park looks great all year and especially grand in the Autumn, so I painted the trees with pinks, oranges and reds which compliment the blue lake and sky. I find adding fallen leaves to a picture helps spread some colour and harmonise a painting, so I library sprinkled some floating on the water.
A picture in St James's Park wouldn't be complete without a few of its feathered inhabitants which are one of the parks highlights, so I've included a couple of the queen's mute swans, some more hens and a few ducks enjoying the lake.
