A greetings card with my painting of the ridge path on Mam Tor looking along the Great Ridge in  the Peak District National Park.

The view I've painted here is from the path just to the north of the Mam Tor summit, looking north towards the peaks of Back Tor and Lose Hill. This ridge is near the town of Castleton in Derbyshire, England.

The Peak District national park is one of my favourite places in the UK I've visited. It has scenery to fall in love and so much history with a landscape central to the UK's industrial revolution. When I get the chance to visit, being able to take long walks up and down the hills there is really inspiring.

To make this more than just a view of the ridge and fence, I added a group of local birds perched on gate, I imagine the scene before the early walkers arrive and they can just enjoy the view for themselves. There are a few bugs to spot and some butterflies, it can't be too breezy up there today! 🙂
