A print of my London sketch of London's famous Natural History Museum. The NHM in South Kensington is one of the best museums in the country, with over 80 million specimens including an amazing collection of dinosaur skeletons. They also redesigned the gardens in 2024, turning them into wonderful places to find a bit of nature and learn a little about evolution too.

I drew this in pencil over a few trips standing outside the NHM in winter, wearing gloves. It was chilly 😬 There is so much detail on the exterior of the museum it took me quite a while to finish, all those Victorian details, columns, windows, animal casts... I couldn't include them all, it would make the picture hard to take in (and draw) so had to sketch in shorthand to give an impression of the detail.

I included this sketch in my illustrated London book volume 1.
