A bookmark with my painting from the top of Primrose Hill in North London with an Autumn sunrise.

This could be one of London's best views you can find while keeping your feet on the ground. You can see Canary Wharf across the Thames and all the way to the city on the left with Tower Bridge and the Gherkin.

I remember watching new years fireworks from this spot one year and wanted to capture the morning view across the city. Autumn seemed the perfect time of year to paint for a sunrise, so all the seasons' warm colours of the trees can work against the cool morning sky and the crisp greens of the park's grass. The challenge of this piece was to harmonise the grass, trees and clouds with the strong colours you find in a sunrise without them becoming overpowering. I mixed into each part of the picture a little of the blues, reds and yellows to spread the colours. My aim was to capture the majesty of a glorious sunrise while keeping a relaxing overall image. I think I managed it as it always gets favourable comments.
