A print of my illustration of the Tate Modern gallery on the south bank of the River Thames in London.
When designing a painting I always find its important not to be tied down to the exact colours you see, this frees you up to explore more palettes and this is a good example. A green sky and purple trees are not what you might expect but they really help this piece stand out and make it visually interesting, which I think is fitting for a modern at gallery 🙂
Before Tate Modern moved in (2000), this building was the Bankside Power Station, providing Londoners with oil powered electricity. It's an amazing re-use for such a building, with the huge interior space now being used for art installations. I've also illustrated the Battersea Power Station, which has been restored after spending decades in a disused state and is now a modern shopping centre.
