The Grapes Pub Limehouse, London Art Print
The Grapes Pub Limehouse, London Art Print
A print of my illustration of the Grapes Pub, Limehouse. Found on 76 Narrow Street, Limehouse in London, this historic pub is now owned by Gandalf (Ian McKellen), note his staff behind the bar! The Grapes is referenced in Charles Dickens's 'Our Mutual Friend' and the writer was said to be a frequent visitor as a boy. There has been a pub on this site since 1583.
I loved painting the architecture of the front of this pub, I always find old pub fronts interesting to draw with their wooden frames, signs and patterned windows.
** Please note, this print comes unframed **
Designed in my London studio and handmade in England
