Victoria Park Chinese Pagoda
Victoria Park Chinese Pagoda
A print of a my illustration Victoria Parks Chinese pagoda in London.
I wanted to capture the pagoda, lake and pavilion in this piece so had to pick just the right angle from the bridge (and a little readjustment of some bushes 🙂).Â
Along with the pagoda, the Pavilion Café can be seen across the lake and I added a few of the parks birds too; Canada Geese, an Egyptian Goose, duck and few sparrows.
Victoria park in east London Tower of Hamlets borough is the oldest public park in London, opened in 1845. The Chinese pagoda sits on an island on west boating lake. The original Pagoda was moved to Victoria park from Hyde Park in 1842 but was demolished in the 1950's. The current one was built in 2010 to replicate the original.
